We set trends and stand for innovation embodied by numerous projects in the production of individual and sophisticated structures mechanisms and launch vehicles.
Your tasks within this interesting challenge are:
- Owns and implements the strategy of the Engineering Portfolio and Support directorate.
- Supports the progress and performance based on a solid understanding and insight of RUAG Engineering domains within Innovation & Systems Management Structures Mechatronics Electronics and Software Engineering. This includes a variety of aspects such as:
- Engineering tools applications and digitization
- Materials & (Eng. Processes
- IP/Patents/Certifications/Regulations
- Compliance with standards
- Risk management and cost Engineering
- Breadboarding and rapid prototyping
- Qualification testing and Verification (development projects only)
- Proactively communicates and aligns with the adjacent Directors within Engineering for best practice and synergies
- Owns budget panning responsibility and accountability for the costs of the unit
- Leads according to the RUAG Spaces Values and Code of Conduct and drives the people & leadership development within the Unit
- Takes the managerial and leadership responsibility towards own direct reports performing HR processes such as competence planning recruitment performance management development etc.
You bring the following skills with you:
- Masters degree in aerospace/electrical/mechanical engineering or comparable
- Knowhow of Space Products and Subsystems development and verification in general
- At least 5 years experience in an engineering role with international leadership responsibility
- Extensive understanding competence and experience in Engineering processes tools and methodologies Knowhow of relevant Engineering tools IT landscape and interfaces
- Engineering knowhow from adjacent industries (Aeronautics Semiconductor etc. would be an advantage
- Customeroriented mindset excellent communication and advanced negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders also across country borders
- Strong affinity to modern development methods (agile lean SCRUM etc) target costing and design through to production
- Excellent communication skills
