Job Description
Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) Operations and Service Delivery
The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for Operations reports to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Enterprise Chief Information the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for Operations & Service Delivery reports to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Enterprise Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is a member of the senior corporate IT leadership team. The DCIO partners with MUSCs academic clinical and business leaders
strategic partners and IT leaders to align strategic objectives with resources capabilities ensures EHR integrity and business continuity. The DCIO leads and oversees overall IT operational efficiency and effectiveness as well as driving the development deployment and ongoing management of the IT service delivery processes. The DCIO is the senior IT executive responsible for optimizing the use and deployment of technology through standardized processes resource management and strategic alignment to deliver optimal value in support of MUSCs academic research and healthcare missions.
Additional Job Description
Education:
A masters degree in business administration information technology healthcare administration or related field. Ten 10 years of relevant leadership experience to include IT project management financial and resource management strategic planning workforce/human capital management legal/compliance is
required. Demonstrated ability to envision plan and support largescale enterprisewide systems. Academic qualifications project management experience certifications in ITIL strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Work Experience:
Demonstrated success and expertise in IT academic healthcare leadership including improving customer satisfaction evaluating innovative technology managing fiscal performance and partnering with academic
research clinical and business stakeholders to ensure services and support are meeting expected levels of
service quality and performance
10 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as program/project management IT consulting customer relationship management and IT operations management
Must have a proven and continuously improving track record with KPIs of delivering excellent customer service
Must have a solid track record of high staff engagement and retention
Relevant business IT operations project management financial and resource management strategic planning workforce/human capital management legal and compliance experience
Please note this is not a hybrid role. The selected candidate is expected to be onsite and/or traveling to
other MUSC Health System Facilities at least 8090. There is a strong inperson culture at MUSC and this role is expected to lead a large team F2F as well as conduct other cross functional and executive/leadership team meetings in person. While there is WFH flexibility as schedules allow relocation to the Charleston area is preferred.
