Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3 is storage for the Internet. We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our S3 Fleet Management team. In this role you will play a key part in building and enhancing AWS S3 Fleet Automation software helping to drive the next generation of cloudbased fleetagnostic automation solutions. As a technical leader you will contribute to the evolution of our services to support internal AWS customers while tackling the challenges of scale performance and efficiency.

Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3 and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2 to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
* Design implementation deployment and maintenance of innovative software solutions to transform service performance durability cost and security.
* Use Java/Java based frameworks and software engineering best practices to ensure the standard of quality of all team deliverables.
* Write high quality distributed system software.
* Work in an agile development environment where you are always working on the most important stuff.
* Mentor junior software development engineers

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
Experience supporting critical customer facing services in an oncall capacity

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Masters degree in computer science or equivalent
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where continuous innovation is desired
