The Amazon Gifting teams build the experiences to connect gift givers and gift recipients. We start by providing services to help shoppers find the perfect gift. Then we enrich the gift giving experience through enabling gift messages gift wrap gift receipts and options to let the recipient choose their own shipping address. The services and products you build will support hundreds of millions of customers shopping for gifts. We do this by combining technology science innovation and creativity to build new customerfacing features and experiences alongside tools for marketers.

To succeed in this role you should be a leader who can prioritize well communicate clearly and who has a track record of building strong teams that deliver results. You have a strong sense of ownership passion to provide great customer experience and excellent troubleshooting skills even when in highpressure situations. Experience with distributed systems and highavailability eCommerce services will be very applicable and helpful.

A day in the life
Hiring and developing an engineering team that is responsible for design development and operations
Managing and mentoring engineers ensuring organizational health and career development within your organization
Participating in strategic planning to achieve technical and business objectives and define technical direction managing resource allocation between multiple engineering teams
Leading design reviews for engineers and driving feedback on architecture design and operational issues
Working with Applied Scientists to deliver machine learning based solutions

You will have the opportunity to explore the many channels Amazon provides for customer outreach and engagement both onsite and offsite. The team provides a great opportunity to make an outsized impact in a burgeoning space and on fresh or even yet to be built services. Would you like to meet a member of Gifting team Read the journey of Shalini Sr PMT working in this team: Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience partnering with product and program management teams
Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Masters degree in computer science engineering mathematics or equivalent
