Job Description
- Assist in deploying configuring and maintaining network equipment including routers switches firewalls and wireless access points.
- Support the administration of server infrastructure including both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot network and system issues escalating as needed.
- Assist in configuring and managing VLANs Access Control Lists (ACLs) and basic Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking tasks.
- Support storage solutions (e.g. NAS SAN) and basic storage configurations including SMB and NFS.
- Help manage virtualization environments including VMware or similar platforms.
- Perform basic scripting (e.g. PowerShell Bash) for automation and task efficiency.
- Assist with maintaining network and system security practices including monitoring logs and managing access.
- Document configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps ensuring accurate and accessible information for team members.
- Participate in an oncall rotation to provide afterhours support as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a combined network and systems engineering role.
- Foundational knowledge of network protocols and configurations including VLANs ACLs TCP/IP and basic routing concepts.
- Proficiency in server administration in both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with storage technologies such as SMB and NFS and basic storage management.
- Basic experience in virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware) and scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Bash).
- Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clear documentation and effective team communication.
- Certifications such as VCP MCSA CCNA or equivalent are a plus.
