Job Duties
Provide training and technical assistance to professional service providers on the neurobiology of trauma and best practices for handling cold case victim notification.
Coordinate training logistics such as scheduling material preparation and maintaining compliance with Partial InService Credit (PIC) standards.
Analyze data from forensic labs and ensure accuracy and followthrough on DNA uploads and CODIS hits from Virginias SAKI grants.
Travel throughout Virginia to cofacilitate monthly twoday trainings (minimum 2 consecutive nights per month) and attend law enforcement case reviews as needed.
Collaborate with local and statewide agencies including victim advocates forensic nurses investigators Commonwealths Attorneys and the Department of Forensic Science to promote victimcentered practices.
This position reports to the SAKI Project Manager and is based in the Richmond office.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience working with crime victims preferably in sexual cases.
Expertise in traumainformed practices and experience delivering trainings.
Strong organizational communication and data management skills.
Willingness to travel monthly to train.
Knowledge of the neurobiology of trauma and familiarity with sexual response and the criminal justice system.
Successful candidate must pass a fingerprintbased criminal background check.
Additional Considerations
Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Social Work or related field; or equivalent experience.
