The Assistant to the Associate Dean of Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD) at Cornell Law School plays a vital role in supporting the Associate Dean the AAD professional staff and AAD activities involving the Dean of Cornell Law School. This position encompasses a wide range of administrative and organizational responsibilities to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the departments operations.
The Opportunity
The AAD College & Unit Law Department is seeking an Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Associate Dean and Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD) team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide highlevel administrative support to the Associate Dean managing correspondence travel arrangements and financial processes.
Oversee office management functions ensuring smooth daytoday operations.
Coordinate calendars and logistics for meetings including Law School Advisory Council gatherings and donor events.
Plan and execute key alumni and donor engagement events.
Maintain department records and support communication with stakeholders.
This is a fulltime 39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca NY. This position follows a 3:2 campustohybrid work arrangement after a period of orientation and training. Tuesdays are a required inperson workday to participate in department meetings. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Work hours are 8:30am5pm Monday through Friday.
What You Need
We are seeking a proactive team member with strong communication skills the ability to prioritize effectively and a resourceful mindset. Additionally you will:
Hold an Associates degree and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
Have experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity equity access inclusion and wellbeing.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
Have strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
Have strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Be able to handle highly sensitive information with strict confidentiality and proficiency in desktop applications databases network systems and internet use.
Have experience in coordinating events and meetings along with the ability to manage budgets operating accounts and prepare related business documentation
If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role to include:
Prefer knowledge and experience with the Universitys policies and procedures. Knowledge of Alumni Affairs and Development would be beneficial. Knowledge of Word Excel Access Filemaker is preferred Peoplesoft is beneficial.

Rewards and Benefits
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role
remotely 2 days per week and oncampus 3 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
This position is based in Ithaca New York. Employees who work remotely may receive multiple W2 Forms depending on their work location. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside of New York State.
