Position Summary
The Department of Microbiology Immunology and Pathology at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist with significant experience in bioinformatics involving mammalian systems. Experience with one or more of the following is desired: whole genome/exome sequencing gene expression profiling epigenetics single cell sequencing analysis cancer genomes and genomewide association studies. The position will primarily focus on assessing cancer genomics and immunological in dog and cat lymphoma/leukemia samples seen by the Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory approximately 75 effort. The individual in this position will also offer support to other investigators in the college working on mammalian systems. Responsibilities : The scientist hired into this position would support existing research conducted by the current PhD students and research scientists in the Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory and in other laboratories within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory studies dog and cat hematopoietic cancers using gene expression profiling RNA sequencing) whole genome and whole exome sequencing targeted mutational analysis and target enrichment sequencing and dissection of complex entities using single cell RNA and DNA sequencing. The person in this position will be expected to provide individual and small group training to PhD students and perform data analysis input into experimental design and assist in preparing material for publications grants and presentations.
