Job Description
The Amazon Rufus Editorial team is seeking an Editor who is passionate about the intersection of language and technology. This is an opportunity to join the highperforming team behind Amazons new generative AIpowered shopping assistant. Rufus makes it easy for customers to find and discover the best products to meet their unique needs by helping with product research providing comparisons and recommendations answering specific product questions and more. This role is inherently highvisibility and highly crossfunctional requiring collaboration and influence across product design science and engineering.
A successful candidate will thrive in ambiguity and care deeply about crafting shortform content that is clear concise and relatable. This person will have a knack for simplifying complex statements and revel in the opportunity to create and implement style and tone guidelines. Part writer and part editor this person will train our AI models to deliver delightful conversational experiences through writing editing evaluation and prompt engineering.
This role requires exceptional written and oral communication skills excellent judgment strong interpersonal skills deep curiosity about how things work and a passion for serving customers. You must enjoy contextswitching and partnering at all levels of the organization to deliver results. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the growing field of artificial intelligence and its application in diverse business settings.
Key job responsibilities
* Write edit and annotate shortform content that will be used to train our AI models.
* Use prompt generation and Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) to improve the fluency of our AI models.
* Uphold quality style and tone guidelines while using customer feedback to continually improve our ability to be helpful and truthful.
* Work closely and collaboratively with product and tech stakeholders to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
* 3 years of writing and editing experience
* Bachelors Degree in English Journalism Communications or comparable fields
* Experience working crossfunctionally to drive product improvements
* Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $102200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
