Job Summary/Basic Functions
EKU Housing & Residence Life is seeking students for the Community Receptionist (CR) position for theacademic year. Community Receptionists work the front desk in residence halls to provide customer service administrative assistance and community engagement in our residential communities. They are responsible for greeting visitors answering calls responding to questions and referring calls or students to appropriate staff members.
Responsibilities:
Greet residents and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Monitor access to the residence hall enforcing policies and procedures.
Answer calls respond to questions and refer calls or students to appropriate staff members.
Maintain accurate records of resident interactions incidents and key inventory.
Assist with room key checkin/checkout procedures for residents and guests.
Foster a sense of community by promoting hall events and activities.
Encourage resident involvement in hall events and initiatives.
Serve as a resource for residents providing information about campus resources and services.
Collaborate with other Residence Life staff to address resident concerns and promote a positive living environment.
Follow established protocols during emergencies or crisis situations including fire evacuation routes and safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
Community Receptionists must display a professional attentive friendly and helpful attitude while working.
The CR is not required to live on campus. This position may require some evening and weekend hours as well as lastminute desk coverage. The CR will be cosupervised by the Community Desk Manager (CDM) and Graduate/Residence Hall Coordinator (G/RHC) for the residence hall to which they are assigned. This appointment is for one full academic year with the option for renewal of employment for the following academic year to be evaluated at the end of the current academic year. The CR must attend and actively participate in Fall Training (August) and Spring Training (January). Additional duties and special assignments may be assigned as directed by the CDM and G/RHC.
