LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE (through the end of the school year)
Position: 912 Teacher/Advisor
Qualifications: Current MA Teaching License Math or Science preferred
Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) is seeking a passionate creative and insightful educator. LCE is a small innovative high school and a member of the Big Picture Learning network. Teachers at LCE lead an advisory of no more than 15 students as they engage in educational experiences that are rooted in realworld learning. Responsibilities of the advisor include:
- Planning and implementing an individualized program of instruction that capitalizes on students interests and realworld learning.
- Assessing and documenting each students progress through various formative and summative assessments marking period narratives phone calls and meetings with parents and weekly student meetings.
- Guiding students as they seek and explore internship opportunities.
- Assisting students in the development of interdisciplinary projects that demonstrate gradelevel knowledge and skills and incorporate realworld learning experiences.
- Collaborating with other educators to support and challenge all students.
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a positive school culture and community.
- Planning and teaching relevant content and skills to prepare students for higher education with a focus on Mathematics.
- Ensuring that all students graduate with a viable fiveyear plan for success.
