Job Title: Housekeeping Female FLSA Status: nonexempt Status: Part Time Reports to: Cleaning Services Manager POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development healthy living and social responsibility. In coordination with the Facilities Manager is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas including such duties as mopping dusting and trash removal window washing meeting set up pool cleaning laundry and other related responsibilities in general areas and womens and girls locker rooms ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. Performs wet and dust mopping dusting trash removal recycling window washing pool cleaning room set up vacuuming and general cleaning.
- Operates related motorized and nonmotorized equipment.
- Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
- Reports to Facility Manager when supplies or equipment needs ordered.
- Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Replaces soap paper towels and other supplies.
- Work with fellow staff members to ensure events and event setups are staffed properly and carried out effectively. Set up furniture for events.
- Maintains member service while performing job duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 2 years or more of related experience in janitorial for facilities housekeeping preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions procedures manuals and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe efficient use.
Requirements of Employment: - YMCA New Staff Orientation training plus CPR/AED First Aid Child Abuse Prevention Blood Borne Pathogens Sexual Harassment training YMCA Leader training within 30 days of hire date.
- Available to work 35 days/week for a minimum of 4 hours including some nights and weekends

- Ability to erect and stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 15 feet.
- Ability to work with cleaning equipment chemical compounds solvents cleaners and solutions in dry liquid powder spray and aerosol forms.
- Ability to clean equipment and operate related motorized equipment as needed.
- Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
- Ability to perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve but not limited to the following activities: semi reaching to fullreach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground overhead and at ground level; twisting of the waist shoulders and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
