Job Summary:

This job entails working with Decatur manufacturing and machine product design based in Decatur to effectively coordinate of virtual manufacturing activities and factory updates as requested by internal clients.

What You Will Do:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance in major manufacturing projects working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinating virtual manufacturing activities with internal clients to validate product design and acceptability of design for manufacturing in assembly.
• Working with global teams to coordinate high quality deliverables on time and within budget for internal clients
• Developing standard documentation processes and tools for improving assembly design for manufacturability and improvement of in place manufacturing processes.

Names the manufacturing processes that can be streamlined from the implementation of best practices.

Manufacturing Process Design and Development:
Cites examples of successful design or development of manufacturing processes.
Lists essential steps in designing a manufacturing process.
Records and documents any data related to manufacturing processes.
Understands the purpose of process design in manufacturing.

Lean Manufacturing:
Discusses considerations for work cell design and effectiveness monitoring.
Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean.
Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area.
Selects and utilizes tools techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment.
Explains benchmarks and measures of effectiveness of lean.

Top Candidates Will Have:

Qualified candidate will have:

Bachelors degree in an Engineering field

experience working in a service organization where interface between clients and engineers is critical.

experience working across global teams and time zones

experience working with manufacturing engineering organizations within a factory environment

experience working with product group design in design for manufacturing activities

experience working with complex machines or system designs (for example: Large mining trucks or generators)

Additional Information

The location for this position is Decatur IL and full time onsite.

Relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position may require up to 25 travel.
