Staff Product Manager Privacy and Trust

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Mountain View (CA) or Warren (MI) three times per week at minimum. This position can be located at either of these 2 locations.

The Role

As Staff Product Manager for Privacy and Trust you will define and execute the Privacy and Trust technology roadmap and experience across mobile web and in vehicle surfaces. Responsibilities include building and driving strategies to enhance user transparency and control over their data while championing a privacy by design culture within our organization. You will partner with legal teams to transform regulation and compliance guidance to privacy products and policies. This role tackles complex problems in the privacy space in ways that our customers love and align with our business objectives.

Being able to thrive in fastpaced environments demonstrate principled decisionmaking and build consensus across crossfunctional teams to deliver bestinclass privacy experiences are all crucial for the success of this position. We expect you to be proactive willing to roll up your sleeves and committed to protecting our customers and the business.

What Youll Do

  • Own the longterm product vision setting strategic direction for privacy across multiple product teams and surfaces balancing user privacy business objectives and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure transparent and delightful user experiences that help customers understand how we protect their privacy and help them make informed choices about their data across vehicles mobile apps and web.

  • Lead a crossfunctional team of stakeholders encompassing Legal Design Engineering Program and Product Managers to create intuitive customer experiences that meets customer and business needs.

  • Act as the voice of the customer ensuring digital products meet best in class Privacy and Trust needs and expectations even when you dont directly own the product.

  • Actively monitor emerging trends incorporate data research and market analysis to inform define prioritize and drive of product roadmap that spans privacy initiatives data collection consent experiences and privacy controls.

  • Help drive a datadriven culture and establish and monitor key metrics to measure the effectiveness of privacy initiatives.

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5 years working on technologypowered digital products as a product manager.

  • 3 years of experience managing products focused on user trust privacy and transparency.

  • Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between consumer needs and expectations legal and regulatory requirements and business objectives.

  • Experience developing solutions to hard problems with many constraints using sound judgement to assess risks and to lay out your argument in a wellstructured datainformed written narrative.

  • Demonstrated expertise in writing with the ability to effectively balance and integrate legal privacy and communications perspectives to ensure clear compliant and engaging content for privacyrelated matters.

  • Familiarity with privacy laws and regulations and their implications for consumer data use collection and consent.

  • Ability to identify key data and metrics required to make decisions and implications of their movement.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to all stakeholders.

  • 8 years of digital/software product management experience

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

  • The salary range for this role is $168000 to $258800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
