Howdens is currently seeking an experienced Tool Room Servicing Operator to join our team at our manufacturing site in Howden East Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the service repair and manufacture of inhouse tooling supporting our production operations with precision and expertise. If you have a background as an operator or a CNC Machinist with tooling knowledge we are keen to hear from you.

Shift 6am 4:30pm Monday to Thursday

Salary 49263.24 per annum

What youll be doing:

As a Tool Room Servicing Operator your main responsibilities will include:

• Servicing repairing and manufacturing tooling for our production facilities using a variety of machinery including Vollmer QM machines CNC lathes milling machines sharpening machines and manual machines.
• Assembling components and interpreting technical working drawings accurately.
• Recording production data with precision and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Conducting detailed quality checks aligned with our quality control processes.
• Modifying tools and making adjustments as requested by the Tool Room Manager.
• Performing machine safety checks before use and contributing to a safe clean working environment.

What do you need to qualify for the Tool Room Servicing Operator:

Were seeking someone who brings handson experience and a proactive approach. Ideally youll have:

• A background in machine operation within a fastpaced manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Timeserved experience working in an engineering workshop.
• Strong understanding of CNC control systems.
• Experience with EDM machines for sharpening PCD tooling (preferred but not essential).
• Familiarity with saw grinding machines for carbide saw blades (preferred but not essential).
• Working knowledge of CNC lathes milling machines and cylindrical grinding processes (advantageous but not required).
• The ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• A track record of meeting tight deadlines and maintaining performance under pressure.
• A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to contribute to tooling system development.
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• A collaborative attitude and the ability to build positive relationships across departments.
