Assistant Team Lead CAT

Grade: Teachers Leadership Group L8 59167 L(Consultation grade subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review)
Working 32.5 hours per week
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and solution focused Assistant Team Lead. The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with recent experience of leading others in the area of special educational needautism and social communication and interaction needs. As part of this role you will be involved in leading and developing the Communication and Autism Team as well as supporting educational settings to evaluate and develop their practice at a strategic level. In addition to this you will contribute to the development of SEND across the city as part of the SEND and AP improvement plan.
CAT are an educational service who advise staff in maintained nursery and school settings on how to build their autism knowledge and work strategically with settings to embed good autism practice. CAT work with settings to build inclusive and enabling practices around autism social communication and interaction needs to ensure children and young people have full access to their educational work with children and young people in a variety of ways to inform and shape planning through the modelling of practical approaches that settings can adopt to support the young person.
CAT are the West Midlands Autism Education Trust training partner and as such delivering training is an essential part of the role. We work closely with families and partner agencies to support children and young people with autism to achieve their potential in schools and colleges both academically and socially ensuring their opportunities are as broad as possible on transition to adulthood. We are committed to understanding autism as difference rather than deficit.
