Description
Positions in this class assist police staff with a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the departments daily operations. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.
Reserve Officers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction Police Department providing essential support to the Patrol division. These volunteer officers work alongside our fulltime staff improving efficiency and contributing to the departments overall mission.Essential Duties
Reserve Officer Functions:
- Proactive patrol
- Assist with traffic control on police scenes and during events
- Participate in policerelated community events
- Assist in routine tasks around the department
- Ability to lift 3050 pounds
- Must be AZPOST certified
- Must complete FTO within the Apache Junction Police Department
- Ability to communicate clearly through police radios
- Ability to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operations
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Possess strong communication skills both oral and written
- Attend required meetings and trainings

Commitment:A minimum of one year of service is required with a commitment of at least 20 hours per month.
Days of Work Week:Seven 7 Days a Week
Hours: Hours Will VaryMinimum Qualifications
Must be 21 or more years old. Current AZPOST certified or attending an Arizona law enforcement academy. Outofstate certified officers will be reviewed on a
casebycase basis.
