Position Overview
Applicant should possess extensive knowledge of public school system along with engagement and communication skills.
- Applicant is required to have meaningful connections with children and their families respecting cultural diversity
- Reviewing homework and curricula topics assisting children with homework projects test preparation papers research and other academic tasks.
- Strong written verbal engagement and computer skills. Creativity that extends to children and their families
- Ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their academic performance
- Will work with children and their parents to help them understand key concepts especially those learned in their classroom and other educational settings
- Teaching skills to improve academic performance including study strategies notetaking skills and different approaches to answering test questions
- Demonstrating best practices for specific subjects and assignments including research and writing tactics
- Providing students and their families positive and constructive feedback
- Offering feedback on progress to students parents and teachers where appropriate
- Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds
- Assisting children and their caregivers both in person and virtual
- Diagnosing student needs through active listening techniques and questioning strategies using personcentered model recognizing different learning styles and student preferences
- Designated differentiated learning goals staying up to date with the school curriculum
- Other duties as assigned including recreational activities and field trips
Qualifications
