The ClinicalCare Program is currently seeking a fulltime permanent Occupational Therapist to work in the Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Unit 5 (PRT to the Unit Manager you will be a member of an interprofessional team. As an Occupational Therapist you will be working toward enabling patients through assessment treatment and rehabilitation to motivate and engage them into structured activities and programming before they reintegrate in to the community. Using evidence based intervention clients are provided with specialized psychiatric and discipline specific assessment along with intensive care using Cognitive Adaptation Training principles. You will provide clientcentered care and that the COTO standards of Occupational Therapy are maintained. The successful candidate will also conduct various assessments related to your role as Occupational Therapist including functional mobility assessments. You will be responsible for formulating treatment plans monitoring the response of patients to therapeutic interventions and supervising Occupational Therapy students. The Occupational Therapist will provide a range of treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals including: initial assessments to determine clients skills and needs overall rehabilitation readiness and to evaluate mental status; therapeutic and psychoeducational groups; and provide individual counselling to support clients rehabilitation goals and needs. You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations; contribute to program development; provide education support and supervision to students and participate in the research activities of the program. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.

You must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). You must possess a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (or a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy plus a Masters degree in OT Rehab Sciences or a related field) combined with three 3 years of experience working with individuals who have a serious mental illness. You must also have membership in either the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapy and/or Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy and be a holder of COTOs prerequisite Professional Liability Insurance. You also must be eligible for adjunct/statusonly appointments with university faculties associated with Occupational Therapy that has affiliation agreements with CAMH. You have strong group facilitation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work within the interprofessional teams and to engage with clients family members and community care providers. Demonstrated ability to work with clients of diverse backgrounds is necessary. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
