As a Mental Health Therapist Mental Health and Trauma you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. What youll be doing:
- Conduct clinical assessments comprehensive evaluations prepare collaborative treatment plans and comprehensive reports
- Integrate psychosocial assessments into the teams treatment planning
- Participate with the clinical team in assessments client reviews treatment planning therapeutic interventions and discharge planning
- Facilitate evidencebased therapy psychoeducational and recovery management groups
- Provide individual counselling sessions in support of specific treatment needs and goals
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all clinical and program stakeholders
- Deliver EFAP services including confidential counselling case management direct clinical services and assessments
- Ensure continuity of care is maintained through the transfer of information including outreach to the client family members physician team members other service providers and client personal support network utilizing client informed consent processes
- Identify and plan for discharge needs including coordination of referrals to appropriate community resources and outpatient counselling
- Supervise students interns and nonregulated support personnel as appropriate
- Awareness and acknowledgement of the value of using measurementbased care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an asset
What were looking for:
- Masters degree of Social Work Counselling or Psychology
- Registration with CRPO
- Experience with facilitating evidencebased therapy groups and individual psychotherapy
- Experience treating First Responder Healthcare professionals and Military populations would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience in treating trauma stressorrelated disorders and concurrent psychiatric and substance use disorders
- Knowledge of standardized and nonstandardized assessments
- Experience with integrating case conceptualization model within trauma services
- Knowledge and application of relevant mental health acts and community resources
- Assessment of group dynamics and facilitation skills for group therapy
- Formal training in and experience providing with CBT DBT Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Mindfulness Traumainformed Yoga Psychotherapy and Counseling is preferred
- Knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions evaluation techniques and psychometrics properties needed to evaluate therapeutic interventions and functional status
- Comprehension of psychiatric emergencies and crisis management skills would be preferred
- Servicespecific training and knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation childhood trauma and sexual abuse recovery management Mental Health Act PHIPA Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 Health Care Consent ACT
- Knowledge of concurrent addiction disorders for specific addiction assessment tools
- Strong organizational time management and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint
- Exceptional communication and customer service delivery skills
- Demonstrated success working independently as well as contributing actively to team objectives
