Job Description
SUMMARY: The Development/Special Events Intern will provide support to the Development Department with tasks including; administrative duties marketing special events and outreach to third parties. The Development/Special Events Intern will work cooperatively with other members of the Development team to fulfill the fundraising goals and activities of The Safe Center LI Inc. This is a great internship for individuals who would like to learn more about marketing fundraising and special events with a nonprofit organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare mailings postage and mailing labels for agency collateral
- Update flyers social media images or graphics for events on Canva
- Solicit raffle and auction prizes for special events
- Set up centerpieces and signage for special events
- Make phone calls and maintain donations to the agency
- Help prepare event supplies and materials
- Set up basic audio visual for events as needed
- Complete inventory of supplies
- Pick up donations as needed
- Set up raffle and auction baskets for special events
- Other duties/tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Canva preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Ability to multitask manage databases work in a fastpaced team environment
HOURS:
- 1014 hours a week required. Hours are flexible
- Reliable transport required
- Possible nights and weekends to accommodate special events
