Summary: Join our team as an HVAC Mechanic! Install maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems. Use advanced tools to ensure optimal performance. Requires Journeyman Refrigeration License and EPA certification.
Classification Summary:
Installs and maintains the many mechanical electrical and electronic components such as motors compressors pumps fans ducts pipes thermostats and switches that are part of heating airconditioning and refrigeration systems. Maintains diagnoses and corrects problems throughout the entire system using special tools and test equipment.
Classification Standard Duties:
Performs troubleshooting and repair of building distribution systems including low pressure steam distribution heat exchangers hot and cold deck systems air handlers and pneumatic and digital controls; Performs HVAC system inspections and manufacturerrecommended preventive maintenance; Performs major component replacement work in conjunction with central energy management and control system operators; Performs seasonal overhauls and instructs repair teams in transition of systems from heating to cooling and vice versa; Monitors and adjusts system set points and output using remote computer links to the buildings programmable logic controls; Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices; Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.

Required Education:High School diploma or GED certificate.; Required Experience:None; Equivalency:None; Required Certification/License:Possession of a valid unrestricted drivers license is a requirement for this possess a New Mexico Journeymans Refrigeration possess an EPA Universal Refrigerant Handler Card.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of HVAC installation troubleshooting repair and maintenance; Knowledge of refrigerant recovery; Working knowledge of HVAC and associated systems employing computerbased monitoring and control devices; Knowledge of mechanical equipment plumbing utilities distribution systems and controls including maintenance and troubleshooting.; SKILLS:Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.; ABILITIES:Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade; Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines; Ability to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures; Ability to repair and/or replace building mechanical systems components including programmable logic controls; Ability to use computerbased monitoring and control devices in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems.

Required Certification/License: Possession of a valid unrestricted drivers license is a requirement for this job. Must possess a New Mexico Journeymans Refrigeration License.
