Position Description: FROEDTERT AND THE MEDICAL COLLEGE OF WISCONSIN TRANSPLANT SERVICE LINE AND MCW DIVISION OF TRANSPLANT SURGERY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY TRANSPLANT/RECOVERY SURGEON AND OPO MEDICAL DIRECTOR The Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F & MCW) Transplant Service Line and the MCW Division of Transplant Surgery are seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Surgeon interested in advancing an academic career in a vibrant and growing transplant center. This Surgeon will work closely with Versiti the local Organ Procurement Organization (OPO). Is primarily accountable as the OPOs Medical Director and for the surgical recovery process: surgical dissection removal and preparation of selected donor organs for transplantation in the operative setting. It is the responsibility of this surgeon to assist in efforts to increase the availability of organs for transplantation and research by providing highquality recovery services and clinical oversight within the donation service area. The Medical Director/Transplant/Recovery Surgeon also oversees organ donor referral screening and medical management of organ donors. The Service Line encompasses transplant programs in liver kidney pancreas heart and lung. Representing the most comprehensive pediatric and adult transplant care in Wisconsin and the region the service line is recognized for nationally ranked outcomes internationally known medical and surgical transplant specialists and endstage disease management innovation and groundbreaking research. It is a critical resource for Wisconsin and beyond.
