Were hiring a Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) to support a strategic enterprise customer as they scale their adoption of Databricks. This is a handson data engineeringfocused role where youll work sidebyside with the customers technical teams to build robust productionready data and AI pipelines. Youll play a critical role in guiding architectural decisions helping the customer optimize their Spark workloads and ensuring a successful deployment of Databricks across their organization. From building scalable data pipelines to troubleshooting complex Spark jobs your work will directly impact how this organization extracts value from their data. - Unblock technical challenges accelerate migration efforts and drive meaningful outcomes from day one
- Collaborate closely with Databricks product and engineering teams to share customer feedback and help shape future platform capabilities
- Codify best practices and contribute to internal knowledge bases that scale the impact of the Specialist Solutions Architect team
What we look for:
- 7 years of handson data engineering experience with deep expertise in Apache Spark and distributed data processing
- Experience working across cloud platforms (preferably Azure) understanding the nuances of modern storage formats like Delta and Iceberg and building scalable pipelines using orchestration tools like Airflow
- Experienced in tuning Spark jobs for performance and cost addressing complex issues such as data skew shuffle inefficiencies and memory leaks
- Strong ownership of problems from endtoenddiving deep learning quickly and doing whatever it takes to deliver results
- Ability to clearly and empathetically communicate complex technical concepts adapting effortlessly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Someone who thrives in collaborative customerfacing environments and knows how to turn strategic goals into scalable working systems
