Full Time Spring/Summer Fixed Term Employment Opportunity

Spring (MayJune) & Summer (late JuneAugust 29 2025dates TBD)

New hire$58.33 per day & Returning staff$62.50 per day (plus room & board)

Location: Camp Stephens Lake of the Woods Kenora Ontario (Live on Site)

Do you love working with children Want to help provide a highquality camp experience for every child Excited about spending your Spring and Summer on an island in beautiful Lake of the Woods Camp Stephens provides a unique opportunity for everyone. As a key member of the Kitchen Team the Kitchen Staff Member assists with meal preparation food safety and maintaining a clean kitchen. This role involves preparing quality meals for campers and staff while supporting kitchen operations.

Are you the right fit

Leadership

  • Lead by example providing support to campers staff and the broader camp team for a collaborative work environment.

Operations

  • Follow safety procedures and food handling standards.
  • Keep a clean safe and organized work area.
  • Ensure timely meal preparation meeting quality standards and portion sizes.
  • Prepare and serve meals considering dietary needs and preferences.

Administrative Support

  • Assist with kitchen documentation including logs and inspections.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment functions properly and complete incident reports as needed.

    • Certificate: Emergency First Aid Non Violent Crisis Intervention Mental Health First Aid Food handler Certificate
    • Y Winnipeg Staff required trainings: Workplace Safety & Health Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Training (AODA) Respectful Workplace Child Protection
    • Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check

Note for successful candidates who do not have all of the above required trainings the Y Winnipeg is willing to provide.
