Job Description:
Cook
- Prepare full daily meals for clients in a 31bed 24/7/365 acute treatment unit for adults
- Plan and provide nutritious meals to all clients on a daily basis ensuring food purchased is fresh and within budget
- Ensure all health safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained
- Plan prepare cook and present wellbalanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating cultural and dietary needs as required by clients
- Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen to meet the required standards of practice
- Ensure all equipment used is well maintained in good working order and report any defects to the Clinical Manager. Provide training to other staff as needed in use of kitchen equipment
- Purchase supplies in accordance with the planned menu
- Overseen the daytoday operations and cleanliness of the kitchen
- Maintain compliance with all kitchen sanitation and safety standards state and local laws and other regulatory agencies related to food service
- Work effectively with other members of staff
- Monitor all food quality in freezers/coolers in kitchen
- Follow all AllHealth Network policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience education and ability of the employee.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED. A Bachelors degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition or equivalent experience is desirable but not required.
- Experience in an institutional setting such as healthcare/hospitals/nursing homes/schools or corrections
- Two to three years of professional cooking experience with strong knife skills product knowledge and cooking methods including baking braising steaming broiling frying and poaching.
- Four years of progressive culinary experience.
- Experience/competence in a threemeal service residential community.
- Must have all food handling certifications required by the city and state.
- Must be comfortable working with individuals experiencing behavioral health issues.
Shift/Location:
Parttime
Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and some occasional weekends
Acute Care Campus
- We provide inpatient treatment for individuals experiencing mental health crises at his location
Pay Rate:
$2025/hr
