Job Description
Job Title:High School Intern Engineering Department
Location:City of El Dorado Kansas
Hours:Flexible scheduling up to 40 hours per week JuneAugust
Compensation:$12.50 per hour

About the Position:The City of El Dorado is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic high school student to join our Engineering Department as an intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in various engineering functions including project assistance daily inspections and administrative support.
Qualifications:
- Entering Junior or Senior year of high school at least 16 years old as of 05/01/2025
- Maintain regular attendance and be punctual
- Available for a minimum of 5 weeks with the possibility to extend
- Complete onthejob training and any required reading in a timely manner
- Possess basic computer skills necessary to perform job functions
- Must be comfortable working outside and in a construction environment
- Desire to pursue a related field with construction or engineering
Responsibilities:
- Project assistance including daily inspections and construction staking
- Administrative support assisting with the organization of the engineering office
- Assist with data entry and recordkeeping
- Organize and file engineering documents
- Support project management processes
- Observe and assist with site visits and inspections
- Help prepare materials for engineering projects
- Participate in special engineering projects and research
- Prepare and present a final report on internship experience
