Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to learn to provide analytical skills in the Allied Health Unit to ensure that initial licensure reinstatement endorsement reciprocity and collaboration agreement addendums for advanced duties applications are processed in a timely manner while assuring all applicants/licensees have met minimum qualifications according to the statute and regulations of Maryland. This includes an evaluation of the applicants character and fitness for licensure.

This position is specifically responsible for:
  • learning to determine the eligibility of any Allied Health Practitioners Licensure applications reinstatement applications endorsement applications and reciprocity applications that are submitted to the Board of Physicians where the applicant has answered YES to any of the Character and Fitness questions.
  • learning to prepare and present investigative findings and materials to the Boards Disciplinary Panel and the full Board meeting.
  • learning to manage/analyze/process these applications from the initial licensure stage through final disposition by the Board.

This is a full performance level of work learning to conduct research into the educational employment and personal history of applicants for Allied Health

The Board of Physicians may ask candidates to demonstrate certain skills through an assessment.Individuals selected for an interview are expected to demonstrate knowledge of center initiatives by reviewing the Boards website.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Five years of experience in administrative or professionalwork.

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required experience.

may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours for the required experience.

may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular exercise of independentjudgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complexadministrative plans policies rules or regulations or analysis of the operational programs or procedures withrecommendations for improvement on a yearforyear for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate MUST have one year experience reading interpreting and applying policies laws and/or regulations.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:
  • Experience interpreting laws regulations and procedures
  • Experience presenting clear and concise oral and written reports and recommendations
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures for collecting interpreting and presenting data/information

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employeesin this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of amotor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess amotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
