Information Systems Business Application Support Analyst

Massachusetts General Hospitals Development Office is seeking a hard working and dynamic professional to provide information systems support including applications support report development training and other information management support services to the Development Office fundraising staff.

As a member of the Information Management team the Information Systems Business Application Support Analyst is a Development Officer who works directly with fundraising staff to provide Information Management advise support and resources including applications support report development training and other services related to the management of the information systems used by the development office. The Officer works to develop and clarify business requirements and specifications for systems related projects and ensures that business needs are met in an efficient and customer oriented manner. The Officer extracts data and develops and delivers reports using a variety of methods. The Officer performs routine database maintenance and identifies areas to improve operational and reporting efficiency.

Major Duties

Develops and maintains a solid understanding of MGH Development Systems and helps to define user needs and systems issues.

Serves as a software support contact for internal users and helps prioritize all support requests related to the MGHs fundraising information systems. Effectively troubleshoots and resolves issues when appropriate.

Manages all day to day report and mailfile requests.

Assists in the creation of technical and operational documentation (specs) for all reports.

Interacts regularly with a large relational database writing queries using SQL.

Serves as database administrator for tasks including the upload and editing of high volume data.

Assists the Associate Director in the development of custom reports using 2012 SQL Visual Studio Tools

Troubleshoots custom report related issues as reported by users.

Leads the list production process for mailings event invitations and prospecting lists for the Development Office.

Facilitates the creation and maintenance of email distribution lists in The Raisers Edge and third party software.

Submits support tickets with Partners IS and Partners Development IS for systems needs and requests as necessary.

Follows established procedures to ensure the integrity of the MGH donor database including gift and biographical information.

Supports data integrity projects using The Raisers Edge fundraising software.

Assists with the installation of The Raisers Edge software and coordinates the installation of other related computer software for Development staff.

Participates in the process of planning the Information Management teams measurable yearly goals objectives and initiatives

Stays informed of new technologies and current IS trends in fundraising.

Supports internet based request forms through third party software.

Works on special projects as requested.

Qualifications

24 related years ofexperience preferred (familiarity and experience within a Development office preferred). BA/BS degree required (BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred). The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills abilities and competencies:

Experience with relational databases report writing The Raisers Edge Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or other donor information systems packages preferred.

Strong familiarity with Windows operating system.

Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office suite with strengths in Excel and Access.

Experience with relational databases report writing and The Raisers Edge.

Experience working with nontechnical users in an application support role.

Ability to work with a team and participate in a service oriented program.

Ability to develop and clarify business requirements and specifications for system related projects and ensure that business needs are met in an efficient manner

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to take initiative embrace challenges and develop creative solutions.

Must be customerfocused with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well with individuals at all levels within an organization.
