ABOUT
Our client company based in Stuttgart (Germany) specializes in the design and construction of lightweight structures integrating architecture and engineering based of scientific research and minimalistic forms in harmony with the ornamentation of buildings.
ROLE
The Construction Manager oversees the planning coordination and of faade design and installation activities on construction sites. The Construction Manager will be responsible for managing all onsite operations ensuring that the faade work is completed on time within budget and according to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership problemsolving skills and an indepth understanding of faade systems construction techniques and project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Planning & Coordination:
Develop and implement construction plans schedules and work packages specific to the faade scope of the project.
Work closely with design teams engineers subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure that faade works are coordinated with other trades and activities onsite.
Monitor and adjust project timelines to ensure critical faade milestones are met avoiding delays and disruptions.
Management:
Oversee all onsite activities related to faade installation ensuring the work is carried out safely efficiently and in line with project specifications.
Coordinate the daily activities of faade subcontractors ensuring they have the resources materials and information required to complete their tasks.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
Control & Assurance:
Ensure that all faade installations meet the projects quality standards and specifications conducting inspections and tests as required.
Work with the design and quality control teams to resolve any issues related to faade materials workmanship or installation methods.
Ensure that any nonconformance issues are addressed promptly and implement corrective measures to avoid recurrence.
Management:
Ensure compliance with all health safety and environmental (HSE) regulations policies and procedures specific to faade construction.
Identify potential safety risks associated with faade work such as working at heights and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate these risks.
Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety on the job site conducting regular safety briefings and ensuring all workers adhere to safety protocols.
Management:
Manage the allocation of resources including labor materials and equipment to ensure the smooth of faade works.
Liaise with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of faade materials and components avoiding any disruptions to the schedule.
Monitor labor productivity and take corrective actions when necessary to improve efficiency and performance.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team subcontractors and clients regarding faade installation progress challenges and changes.
Attend regular project meetings and provide updates on the status of faade construction activities including potential risks or issues.
Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve any discrepancies between construction drawings and site conditions.
& Cost Control:
Monitor and control the budget for faade works ensuring that all activities are completed within the allocated budget.
Identify potential costsaving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Approve faaderelated invoices and change orders ensuring that all work is accounted for and aligned with project contracts.
& DecisionMaking:
Identify and resolve any onsite issues or obstacles that may impact faade installation including technical challenges material shortages or coordination issues with other trades.
Make informed decisions to keep the project moving forward while maintaining high standards of quality safety and cost control.
Act proactively to anticipate problems and implement contingency plans to mitigate delays or risks to the project.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering Architecture or a related field.
Minimum of 810 years of experience in construction management with a focus on faade design and installation.
Strong knowledge of faade systems including glass metal cladding stone and curtain wall systems and their installation methodologies.
Proven experience in managing largescale construction projects particularly in faade work.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to coordinate large teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g. Primavera P6 MS Project or similar) and project documentation systems.
Strong understanding of construction contracts building codes and industry standards.
CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with highrise or complex architectural faade projects.
Certification in project management (e.g. PMP PRINCE2.
Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and digital construction processes.
Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications (e.g. LEED BREEAM).
