BOP Technician The BOP Technicianis responsible for the preventative maintenance service repair and pressure testing of Blowout Prevention parts and components.

Skills & Abilities Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: 15 years proven work experience with servicing BOPs or related job experience; previous BOP experience may range from entry level to experienced based on prior work history and skillset. Ideal candidates will be mechanically inclined selfmotivating individuals with prior order desk and consumable materials management experience. Other Requirements: Must have valid drivers license meet minimum driving requirements for company insurance purposes and successfully pass a preemployment background check physical and drug screen.
Position Details FLSA Status: NonExempt (Hourly) Job Status: Fulltime Amount of Travel Required: 60 Reports to: BOP Manager Work Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However due to the nature of the business hours may be long and irregular. Weekend and evening hours may be necessary on occasion (on call every other weekend might be expected) Work Location: Ideal candidates will be local to the Midland/Odessa TX area and have reliable transportation.
Duties Servicing all blowout preventers Ram and spherical type including associated valves. Perform and document all pressure tests for these components after service. Obtain and maintain an inventory of consumable materials and parts for these items. Organize and maintain the facility including the testing station and BOP store room. Aid management in developing a preventative maintenance system for these components. Aid management in training additional BOP Technicians. Assist field personnel with job related problems associated with these components. Coordinate with the Quality Manager to ensure all API and company requirements are met. Perform field service as required including troubleshooting repairs nipple up and servicing. Maintain and operate hydraulic torque wrenches. Perform other duties as assigned.
