We are seeking a talented individual to join our Revenue team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a Staff Accountant I you will be part of the Revenue Accruals Deferrals & Shares team. The team works on revenue accruals deferrals shares and various other revenue areas within the four operating companies that makes up Marsh McLennan. This opportunity has a fixed term of 6 months.
We will count on you to:
- Prepare review and approve journal entries consolidated statements and client account reconciliations while analyzing and maintaining the general ledger accounts
- Research accounting policy and reporting issues prepare position paper/policy on related subject prepare financial statements and disclosures and reconcile to appropriate support information
- Prepare and analyze revenue and expense reports; coordinate revenue and expense accruals and ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close
- Perform variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts carriers clients administrative systems financial statement line items and related disclosures including Managements discussion and analysis; findings may be presented to senior management
- Review internal processes and procedures provide recommendations to management for improvement and assist/lead implementation of process changes and projects
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies carrier agreements SOX procedures SSAE16 procedures tax regulations local GAAP and US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters
- Prepare ad hoc analyses as assigned
What you need to have:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 03 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
- Experience and affinity for Accounting systems
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively written and verbal
- Proficient in Excel and working knowledge of the MS Office suite
