West Hills Community Church (Johnstown PA) Associate Pastor

The Big Picture

West Hills Community Church(westhcc400500 is searching for anAssociate Pastor who willprovide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to our congregation with a primary focus on young adults (singles) young married couples (with or without families) shutin care ministries oversee mens and womens ministries and small groups. This role will involve developing and implementing programs building relationships and equipping lay leaders. The Associate Pastor will also share in preaching and other pastoral duties as needed.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Young Adults & Young Married Couples Ministry:Develop and implement a

comprehensive ministry strategy fostering spiritual growth community and growth. This

includes creating relevant programs events and outreach initiatives that connect with this

demographic.

Care Team Oversight:Provide leadership and support to the Care Team ensuring

compassionate care is provided to those in need within the congregation that struggle to be in

church physically. This includes recruiting training and coordinating volunteers as well as

developing systems for effective care delivery.

Mens/Womens Ministry Oversight:Provide vision and direction for the mens and womens

ministries empowering lay leaders to develop and implement programs that meet the unique

needs of these groups.

Small Group Oversight:Oversee the small group ministry including recruiting and training

leaders developing curriculum and promoting participation. Ensure small groups are thriving

as a vital component of discipleship and community building.

Additional Responsibilities:

Preaching:Assist with preaching approximately 610 times per year.

Pastoral Care:Assist with weddings funerals baptisms child dedications and other pastoral

duties when requested by Lead Pastor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent theological/ministry degree

Minimum of two years of experience in ministry or a related field with a focus on young adult

small group or care ministries preferred. Experience in a lay leadership role within a church

will be considered.

Strong communication leadership organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively work with diverse groups of people.

A passion for spiritual growth and community engagement.

About the Church:

West Hills Community Church is a relatively new church. Founded in the last ten years WHCC has experienced rapid growth requiring the building of a new facility. The church has a great relationship with the surrounding community and school districts.

About the Area (Johnstown PA):

There is a wide variety of things to do in the area lots of outdoor activities including hiking kayaking fishing hunting & skiing. We hold many local festivals offering great music & delicious ethnic foods. The local education systems are top notch including many colleges within an hour of our church. Pittsburgh & State College are just a 90 minutes drive if one wants to attend professional/college sports or larger concert venues. The cost of living makes the area a great place to buy a house and raise a family.
