What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a Leasing Law Clerk who will contribute to the overall excellent level of service provided to our clients. The successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail along with the ability to multitask and prioritize. This is a good position for you if youre a selfstarter with excellent writing and communication skills who has a passion for working with leases.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and amend commercial lease documents including leases subleases offers to lease amending agreements and other ancillary lease documents
  • Coordinate and manage lease due diligence projects
  • Prepare and/or register notices of lease short forms of lease and other leaserelated title documents
  • Effectively liaise and handle commercial lease negotiations from beginning to end with the assistance of a supervising lawyer
  • Produce the highest quality of work
  • Accountable for all work assigned
  • Take initiative
  • Confidential

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five 5 years experience as a Leasing Law Clerk
  • Successful completion of a related postsecondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program
  • ILCO certification or willing to work towards it
  • Knowledge of Title related matters and reading subsearches an asset
  • Previous law firm experience preferred
  • Handle the time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
  • Flexibility to the changing demands of the job

Skills:

  • Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program
  • Knowledge of Teraview
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Good judgement and decision making
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized
  • Resourceful
  • Detailed
