JOB SUMMARY Gearbox technician will perform assembly and disassembly setup and testing of industrial gear boxes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Assemble and disassemble new and repaired gearboxes.
- Disassemble geared products when necessary.
- Accurately measure gears shafts housing bores for proper clearances with calibrated measuring tools.
- Read assembly drawings.
- Assemble shafts gears bearings and lubrication systems.
- Properly setup gearboxes to ensure they meet specifications tolerances and other customer requirements.
- Perform light welding.
- Operate forklift and crane.
- Conduct safe rigging of materials.
- Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School graduate or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude (i.e. automotive diesel heavy industrial equipment).
- Capable of repairing large industrial equipment such as gearboxes motors and pumps.
- Manual machining
- Welding.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- CDL is a plus
- Able to pass OSHA training.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Capable of using overhead crane.
- Experience with industrial gear drive assembly (preferred).
- Basic machining knowledge & use of inspection equipment (preferred).
- Basic math skill.
- Able to read blueprints and troubleshoot problems with critical & analytical thinking.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
