General Summary
The Eastern Michigan University School of Music & Dance invites applications for a parttime lecturer to serve as ArtistinResidence in Choral Music for Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach the EMU Choir and graduate conducting lessons during a sabbatical leave. Please note that this parttime appointment (salaried only no benefits) requires inperson instruction on Eastern Michigan Universitys campus in Ypsilanti Michigan. EMU Choir meets M/W/F from 1:002:50pm and graduate conducting lessons are scheduled based upon student availability.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching will include EMU Choir and graduate conducting lessons. Teaching may also include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes assessing student work and performance preparing syllabi and course materials providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in conducting or work towards a doctorate in conducting and college teaching experience in choral music. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate in conducting and a minimum of 5 years of postsecondary level teaching experience.
