POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Chief Legal Counsel this position is responsible for evaluating analyzing and delivering opinions on actual or potential legal cases and risk management issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

Associates or bachelors degree in nursing

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 7 years experience in a variety of clinical nursing disciplines

Required Registration/License/Certification

RN license

Preferred Registration/License/Certification

Legal Nurse Consultant certification (LNCC) from theAmerican Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board(ALNCCB) (or willingness to become certified)

Other Requirements

Nursing skills

Listening skills

Research and inquiry skills

Critical reasoning and care assessment skills

Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills

Excellent planning time management and organizational skills

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
