JOB SUMMARY
The Water Quality Analyst is a critical role on the Water Quality Team working closely with all departments of the Drinking Water Division to monitor water quality throughout the community. The primary responsibility of the Water Quality Analyst is operating our analytical equipment at our onsite laboratory at the City of Sioux Falls Water Purification Plant to help assure our community has safe and reliable water and maintain compliance with EPA Drinking Water Regulations and the best standards and practices in the water industry. As a member of the water quality team you will have the opportunity and be encouraged to participate in water industry organization events and training to promote your professional development as a water quality professional.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of two 2 years of education from an accredited college or university or an associate degree in biology chemistry or related environmental science; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Willing to work varied schedules and rotating shifts to accommodate a 24hourperday 7dayperweek schedule. Must possess a valid South Dakota Water Distribution Class I certificate within one 1 year of hire.
Possession of a valid drivers license prior to hire is required.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6 match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
