Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Transit Facilities Design Coordinator to join the Infrastructure group in our Transit Facilities & Linear Infrastructure team in the Mississauga ON location.

A Transit Facilities Design Coordinator will support a multidisciplinary team of engineers and architects to ensure the delivery of a highquality design for our clients while adhering to technical requirements schedule and commercial objectives. Our projects involve atgrade and underground stations maintenance facilities and intermodal transfer centres. The core responsibilities of the role include design oversight project management and client relationship management.
This role requires a high emotional aptitude and empathetic leadership characteristics as well as technical experience supporting complex transit projects.
As the successful candidate you will:
Support the development and documentation of a multidisciplined scope of work;
Support the project change management system;
Contribute to the development of the Project Plan (PEP) together with the project leadership team (including procurement project controls construction and commissioning) and allocate roles and responsibilities; and
Develop the design work plan including design phase design integration and level of effort estimation.
Support the management of design progression and multidiscipline collaboration while acknowledging earned value costperformance and schedule performance objectives;
Support the composition and issuance of design works submittals;
Support the review and triage of client and owner commentary on the design works submittals delegating responses to appropriate design team members;
Ensure that design deliverables are meeting client requirements;
Raise safety awareness and support the implementation of design safety principles;
Provide input into the project monthly report with respect to design progress cost and issues of concern and recommend changes if required to achieve overall objectives; and
Support engineering risk assessments and enable the resolution of identified issues.
Support the preparation and analysis of engineering performance metrics on a multidiscipline basis.
Develop lessons learned lists documentation and feedback into the organization.
Assist the station design manager project manager and project controls manager in preparing a project closeout report.
You bring to the role:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Architecture or related field
PEng or OAA designation is a must
PMP designation preferred
Minimum 8 years of experience in a multidisciplinary environment on major infrastructure projects with specific focus on transit station projects.
Knowledge of engineering/architectural design tasks required for transit facilities as well as an understanding of guideway design track design systems design and design integration.
Knowledge in designbuilding procurement and experience managing teaming such as jointventure arrangements with contractors and/or consultants
A knowledge of administrative practices and strong communication skills across all levels including client representatives.
Ability to handle complex problemsolving tasks applying appropriate analysis and consideration of highlevel technical detail.
A high emotional quotient (EQ) that can be applied to motivate teams increase team efficiency and aid in conflict resolution.
