You will sit in Blocks US Product Counsel Team. This US team is comprised of product counsel lawyers who support Cash App and Square products. You will provide legal support and counseling to the teams supporting Cash Apps Operating Systems product team. Operating Systems is responsible for PeertoPeer products and shared infrastructure across the Cash App ecosystem such as messaging notifications and referral programs.
As Product Counsel you will have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on product and feature development. You will play an important role on the US Product Counsel Legal team and partner with our Operating Systems product teams to maintain current offerings and develop new ones while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also work with the broader US Product Counsel team to advise on money transmitter obligations in the transaction confirmation process across our products and support new features that improve customer communication and engagement. As we expand your ideas and contributions will make an immediate and meaningful impact.
We are looking for someone who is: organized and creative; curious with a desire to understand underlying causes and motivations; able to research and master complex legal topics and communicate them to nonlawyers in brief clear language; have an expert understanding of a legal issue but can separate the practical from the academic and provide clear accurate and applicable advice to the business team and kind patient and respectful to coworkers.
