Job Description

Job purpose

The purpose of the Benefits Specialist is to ensure accuracy of HUB online enrollment platform. This position works as an integral part of the Experience Team and is responsible for data entry corrections and technology support. They will also function as a primary support to the Account Executive.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the open enrollment closeout process.
  • Responsible for open enrollment and special enrollment notes update in Benefit Point.
  • Responsible for completion of the post enrollment discrepancy reports.
  • Expert with carrier website enrollment process rules and eligibility.
  • Expert user in BenAdmin system including employee maintenance data corrections and generating reports.
  • Answers technology and eligibility inquiries from clients employees and vendors via phone and email within 5 business hours.
  • Performs research and problem resolution of data issues using multiple systems tools and resources.
  • Initiates and follows through with Account Executive and/or client on enrollment and eligibility related inquires.
  • Obtain UT Life & Health License
  • Maintains positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Maintain HUB Values including HIPPA Compliance
  • Ensures were meeting turnaround times and Key Performance Indicators outlined for the role

Qualifications

Work experience:

  • 12 years working for a carrier or brokerage firm.

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office intermediate to expert user level preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail
  • Team oriented selfstarter with ability to prioritize monitor and control work flow deadlines and be flexible
  • Detail oriented
  • Sense of urgency
  • Understanding of benefits & benefit terminology
  • Proficient typing ability
  • High degree of independence and problemsolving skills
  • Accurate completion of enrollment/changes which includes followup with carriers and team

Working conditions

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10 of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise dust etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.
