Wayfinder Family Services (Wayfinder) formerly Junior Blind is currently seeking a Grants Associate. The Grants Associate will play an integral role in helping the foundation relations team meet its annual fundraising goal by drafting proposals and acknowledgment letters; researching and cultivating new foundation and community prospects; managing and updating the prospect pipeline; and maintaining complete and accurate files on funders including contact information giving history/interests proposal and reporting requirements etc.
This parttime position (less than 25 hours per week) is ideal for a student or someone looking to get back into the workforce and is interested in a career in nonprofit human services or writing. The individual must possess contagious enthusiasm be a fastlearner and an effective and persuasive communicatorboth verbally and in writing
This is a nonexempt position that reports to the Associate Director of Foundation Relations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Help submit grant proposals for the agencys programs and secure 4figures worth of funds from foundations striving to help meet Wayfinders overall annual goal in corporate and private foundation support.
Assist with the researching and reporting needs for grants writing of acknowledgement letters and tracking all activity in Raisers Edge Financial Edge and Excel.
Assist with Wayfinders fundraising campaigns among Employee Giving Groups and Community Groups (Lions Clubs Rotary Kiwanis etc. by making presentations and attending meetings as necessary and by drafting proposals and special solicitations to meet the annual revenue goal.
Assist with the departments prospect research on foundations and corporations creating donor profiles and updating Raisers Edge with pertinent prospect information.
Work closely with Wayfinders program directors and staff to gather data on program objectives methods outcomes client populations etc. to use in grant proposals.
Support the foundation relations team with clerical tasks such as filing copying drafting letters mailings and organizing internal systems.
Research and track statistics and data relevant to the field.
Serve as back up to the development associate when necessary by helping with gift processing and gift entry.
Required Education Skills and Experience:
Associates Degree required
Outstanding writing research presentation and interpersonal skills.
Advanced ability with Microsoft Office and Raisers Edge preferred.

Wayfinder offers a competitive salary based on the candidates experience. You will be eligible for accrued paid sick leave per Wayfinder Family Services policy and participation in our 401k plan with up to a maximum of 4 percent employer match after qualification as outlined in plan documents.
