Under general direction the Process Engineer develops and optimizes methods to maintain process control and make significant improvements to safety quality productivity and cost.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define process controls and drive bestinclass performance in quality and firsttime yield
- Identifies analyzes and delivers on process improvement to eliminate casting defects. Six Sigma and Lean tools to aid in this effort.
- Supports production to ensure attainment of business goals including addressing quality issues working directly with manufacturing personnel to ensure a smooth running operation.
- Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Ensures manufacturing compliance with work procedures and instructions
- Ensures all work is in compliance with environmental health and safety standards industry specifications customer requirements company standards and related specifications.
- Other assigned tasks as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma Tools at minimum a willingness to learn and apply the tools.
- Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills communication: Listening Verbal and Written.
- Selfmotivated committed with a bias for action that delivers results
- Understanding of metal manufacturing processes
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree (BA or BSc. or higher in Engineering from fouryear college or university
PREFERED EXPERIENCE:
- A broad and thorough knowledge of investment casting technology processes and manufacturing methods
- 35 Years of experience
