Professional Services - Food Service Worker

MSIL Staffing & Packaging and its local client are NOW HIRING a fulltime Head Start Food Service Worker in the Indianapolis Indiana area!

Salary Range: $15/hr

Shift: 1st shift 6am2:30pm Monday to Friday

The Daycare Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing serving and cleaning up meals for children in a daycare setting. This includes following meal plans adhering to dietary guidelines maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring food is prepared according to health and safety standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

Assist with preparing balanced nutritious meals for children based on preestablished meal plans accommodating any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Clean and prepare bottles for Infant/Toddler Children.

Assist with packing breakfast/lunches for Food Services to deliver to Head Start Centers.

Serving Food:

Serve meals for children in a timely manner ensuring food portions meet the daycares guidelines for ageappropriate servings.

Cleaning and Sanitation:

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment utensils dishes and dining areas according to food safety regulations and daycare protocols. This includes regular cleaning of kitchen surfaces floors and storage areas.

Food Storage:

Ensure proper storage of food supplies including refrigeration and stock rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow all health safety and sanitation guidelines set by local health authorities to ensure food is prepared and served safely. Monitor food expiration dates and ensure the kitchen and food handling areas remain hygienic.

Inventory Management:

Assist in tracking food inventory and help order supplies as necessary. Ensure that there are sufficient food supplies for daily meal preparation and help keep inventory records.

Communication:

Collaborate with daycare staff to ensure that childrens dietary needs are met including working with parents and caregivers regarding food allergies preferences and restrictions.

Education & Experience Required:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

1 year of experience working in Food Service/Restaurant Experience.

Ability to follow meal plans and dietary guidelines.

Strong organizational skills for food preparation inventory and cleanliness.

Excellent communication skills to work with daycare staff children and parents.

Attention to detail in food safety practices.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift carry and move food supplies and kitchen equipment as well as stand for extended periods while working in the kitchen.
