Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The idea candidate shall be experienced in both mechanical design and process development. Responsible but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for mechanical engineering design and development of high speed transceiver modules.
- Generate solid works models of Optical SubAssemblies (OSA) and Chip on Board (COB) high speed transceiver modules.
- Collaborate with Transceiver Module Engineering group to develop and define the OSA architecture as well as optical mechanical and RF designs.
- Document all design details in Agile.
- Design and fabricate fixtures/tooling required by NPI production.
- Familiar with automation systems used for optics manufacturing.
- Assist in process development activities as required by NPI production.
Education & Experience
- Minimum # 5 yr. work experience in related field developing electrical/optical systems/subsystems for optical communication.
- BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
Skills
- Working knowledge of Solid Works highly desirable.
- Experience with process development in optics communications industry.
- Experience using Agile.
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good understanding of optical communications subsystems and systems.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a clean room environment.
- Limited travel to Asian maybe required.
Physical Requirements
- Microscopic inspection of components maybe required.
Safety Requirements
