Due to the competitive nature of the Information Technology field Madison Colleges fulltime IT instructors in the School of STEM have a starting salary range of $75000 to $95000. This range is designed to be competitive and will be commensurate with work experience teaching experience and academic credentials. Fulltime instructors work a ninemonth contract 38 weeks) for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) and teaching summer courses if available is optional with additional pay.

Job Description:

The School of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics at Madison College is hiring two fulltime Information Technology Infrastructure Instructors. Madison College is a comprehensive openaccess institution providing a highquality education to a diverse population including firstgeneration college students. We are seeking motivated and engaged candidates who share a willingness to collaborate with other faculty members staff students and the community at large. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the field and to teaching that will enable them to be a visionary and innovative member of the program.

These positions will be open until filled with a first consideration date of April 15 2025. After this date the recruitment may close without further notice. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Our goal is to conduct first round interviews the week of April 28 and secondround interviews the week of May 12 with an August 14 2025 start date.

These positions will be responsible for instruction of Information Technology in the infrastructure programs at the college level. Areas of instruction include ITNetwork System Administration ITCybersecurity Specialist ITCloud DevOps Specialist and ITCyber Compliance Specialist. (Classes assigned are based on area of expertise). This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments utilizing innovative teaching techniques and technology delivering instruction of high quality assessing student learning advising students and participating in college service activities at the department school and college levels.

Positions reports to the Dean in the School of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.

A faculty member can expect to teach in person (day and evening) and online. All faculty are expected to teach in a variety of formats (training provided as needed for nontraditional formats).

Essential Duties:

Facilitate student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to fit students needs and support student engagement. Continually revise curriculum to improve student learning.

Evaluate student performance and provide regular feedback in courses taught by the instructor.

Contribute to student success and retention by advising students with course selection career concerns internships and other matters.

Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students achieve their goals such as writing letters of recommendation and/or helping students link with internships service learning job shadowing and other forms of networking.

Provide support to the program the school and the college by attending and engaging in events and meetings and participating fully within the team environment.

Continually improve teaching through professional development activities and the integration of new techniques and technology. This includes the development and implementation of an individualized professional development plan.

Maintains a commitment to the college mission vision and values.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Effective communication skills including demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. This includes but is not limited to knowledge/experience with current educational methods/strategies such as learnercentered instruction active learning assessment evaluation collaborative techniques and strategies aimed at closing the achievement gaps across race gender class and disability (through inclusive pedagogy).

Desire and ability to teach courses at both the collegiate transfer and technical/occupational program levels.

Ability to communicate complex and difficult concepts and ideas to students with varied backgrounds and levels of preparedness.

Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies techniques and delivery methods as well as incorporating appropriate use of new and emerging technologies into the learning environment.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on course and program promotion direction and innovation.

Knowledge and / or experience with some or all of the following technical skills:

Linux Windows Server and /or Windows Client operating systems

Data networking systems

Next generation firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto)

Basic programming/scripting language (e.g. Python)

Cybersecurity

Virtualization technologies

Using and implementing cloud solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

Associates Degree OR Combination of education and other accomplishments that is equivalent to the above.

(If claiming equivalency attach separate statement that presents basis for this claim and submit supporting evidence e.g. IT Industry certifications transcripts publications and other work products.

Work Experience

Four 4 years or 8000 hours of combined occupational experience in information technology. The experience must include One 1 year 2000 hours) of related work experience within the past five 5 years. (waived if 2 years post secondary teaching experience in the last five years).

Mode of Instruction

Experience with or willingness to learn different modes of instruction (online hybrid Classroom Live and modes of the future).
