Tooling SetUp Mechanic Bedford Park IL HIRING IMMEDIATELY
*$1500 Sign on Bonus*
Grow your career with Pactiv Evergreen! If you have 1 2 years demonstrated Tooling and Change over experience in a manufacturing setting and like problem solving; bring your skills here! Our food packaging machinery will provide an opportunity to grow your mechanical and electrical skills. You will perform PM on Molds and components and support the resolve issues with motors wiring PLCs drives belts and chains. Experience with Injection Molding or Extrusion machinery highly preferred. Ideal candidates have 1 to 2 years of relevant experience within the manufacturing industry and have the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot diagnose and repair equipment & mechanical components minimum supervision or assistance.
Available Shifts: NIGHT SHIFT
- 8Hour Shifts Monday Friday with EVERY WEEKEND OFF
- Day (EShift) Hours: 7A3:30P or 6:30 AM 3PM

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Installs Molds to successfully complete changeovers with minimal supervision.
- Perform any maintenance repair work on tooling that is to support operations.
- Maintain shop equipment in good working condition.
- Installs tooling (cavities plugs etc. into mold bases (molds).
- Identify and troubleshoot tooling problem.
- Provide timely support to other departments.
- Work with tooling team members on all aspects of the job.
- Demonstrates the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Performs PMs on Molds and components.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely matter.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all safety rules and regulations.
- Ensures housekeeping in area(s) of responsibility is safe clean and 6S
- Align and secure holding fixtures cutting tools attachments accessories or materials onto machines.
- Measure examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
- Polish machine marks from flat and contoured surfaces of tooling components using sers abrasive stones files emery cloths or die grinders.
- Measure dimensions and inspect completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools.
- Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.
- Dismantle machines or equipment using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
- Disassemble clean and reassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
- Replace worn equipment components.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years tooling experience with a high degree of mechanical ability and aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs.
- Able to operate forklift and highlift equipment welding experience desired.
- Ability to hold tight machining tolerances.
- Knowledge and experience using micrometers depth micrometers inside diameter gauge and outside diameter gauge.
- Understand various tooling technology.
- Basic math and computer skills .
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated team player.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Education and/or Experience:
- HS diploma or equivalency.
- 35 years Thermo tooling changeover experience.
