Education: B.S. and/or Pharm.D. from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
License: Current pharmacy licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Experience: One year relevant pharmacy experience required 1 to 3 years of hospital experience preferred.
Good interpersonal skills verbal and written communicative skills are essential.Computer skills required. Familiarity/experience with Meditech and Omnicell preferred.
Successful candidate must possess basic computer skills in order to use a variety of electronic systems to access and/or maintain personal employmentrelated data satisfy required annual trainings and use jobspecific applications.All employees of McLean Hospital are assigned an email account for business communication purposes. Essential Functions: Interprets physician orders prior to entry/verification Monitors physician orders for dose route of administration appropriateness drug interactions adverse reactions incompatibilities allergies and clarifies ambiguous or erroneous orders Verifies the accuracy of order entry and of medications dispensed and inspects all medications dispensed from pharmacy for accuracy and completeness Assists in inventory control including controlled medications Oversees pharmacy technician activities Advises nurses doctors and patients on the proper and safe use of medications Assists in developing and implementing departmental educational programs Prepares prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy laws and practice.Grant
