GROUP TRANSPORTATION MANAGER GREECE
Location: Athens Greece
Industry: manufacturing
THE JOB
- Oversee and coordinate the transportation of goods between the plants and to customers across Greece
- Ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Monitor and control transportation costs striving for cost reduction while maintaining efficiency and high service levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation providers negotiating annual agreements
- Lead and manage the transport team and/or shared colleagues at local plants ensuring effective coordination clear communication and a collaborative approach.
- Foster a positive and proactive work environment encouraging a cando attitude among team members and peers.
- Work closely with plant warehouses the sales department and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain operations.
- Work collaboratively with various departments including Procurement Sales and Production.
THE PERSON
- Proven experience in a similar role preferably within the production or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of the truck transport market in Greece
- Good understanding of transport cost management and logistics optimization in Greece
- Experience in team management
- Proficiency in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities native Greek
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisionmaking and process improvements.
- Experience with SAP software is essential for effective transport and inventory management.
- Experience in contract negotiation with transport service providers is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
