Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparingand/or serving foods and beverages in a healthcare environment. May performsuch duties as preparing salad items hot foods and/or cold foods and/orassisting in the preparation of bakery items. Assist in cleaning work areasequipment utensils. Assist in the set up and service; and collection of garbage/trash;as appropriate to the area of operation. May serve food to patients/residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare food items such as fruits vegetablesand meats by cutting dicing and slicing them
Assist in preparing dishes for patientsfollowing instructions for each patient
Put together meals for patients keeping in mindallowed nutritional values
Follow instructions for meal preparations forpatients with food allergies and make sure to omit any ingredient that maycause gastronomical trouble
Prepare food trays with items such as platesflatware napkins and condiments
Apportion food items correctly and followingaccompanying diet lists
Place trays in pushcarts and physically pushthem through facility to assigned floors
Serve trays to patients by placing them ontables and assisting them in partaking of their food
Places items such as eating utensils napkinsand condiments on trays
Collect food trays and dirty dishes and cartthem back to the kitchen for washing
Assist in washing and drying dishwareglassware and flatware
Coordinate with laundry services to ensure thatclean napkins and tray liners are available constantly
May record amount and types of special fooditems served to patients
Handle kitchen garbage disposal activities byplacing trash in appropriate receptacles
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one 1 years of foodservice relatedexperience
